Dear Voters of America,

I’ve been wondering since the election last year, when did actors become political authorities? Seriously.

For example: Leonardo DiCaprio. And I’m aware that I’m about to piss off a few hundred people. Anyway, I’ll be the first to say that Mr. DiCaprio is a fine actor and really hot. But do I look to him for political advice and as an authority of global warming? No. Why? Because he’s an actor. He never went to college (not that I’m being judgmental, I think a lot of smart individuals didn’t go). However, I’d like to know when he found time between Titanic and Gangs of New York and dating models intermittently, to educate himself about political theory and all the scientific facts involved with global warming.

I’m in law school and I still feel like a retard when it comes to government policy. How did Leo figure it out? My point is, I don’t think he did, not anymore than most people. Unless he hired George Stephanopoulis or James Carville to come to his house and tutor him on weekends for a few years, which I’m sure he could afford.

I know that entertainment is highly important in America. But when did we start looking to actors on how to vote? I don’t care who P.Diddy supports. The man can’t even decide on a permanent name. I want to know who professors at Harvard are supporting, who the leading minds in our country are voting for. I don’t give two shits who the cast of Desperate Housewives are banking on. That’s like asking your hairdresser to give you medical advice. It just doesn’t make sense.
