Has anybody noticed that Brad Pitt changes his personality according to his current girlfriend? Really, I have evidence.
Way back when he was just starting out, Mr. Pitt dated Juliette Lewis (who by the way was sixteen and he was twenty-six). I realize that if you didn’t know this you may need a minute to absorb it. Anyway, they were both all weird and indie. Brad had the weird beard and dirty hair, etc.
Further down the line, he gets more popular, he and Juliette break up, then he begins dating Gwyneth Paltrow. He starts dressing like he’s rich and not a hobo, he even gets the same haircut that she has. And when they take pictures they both have the same sucked-in cheeks expression. They get engaged, but it doesn’t work out.
Then he meets Jennifer Aniston. All of a sudden, he’s California cool, wearing fedoras and button up plaid shirts. Both of them are smiley and all-American looking. They get married, and sadly, this fizzles.
Enter Angelina Jolie. Brad develops an aversion to colors, wearing only grays, blacks, neutrals. He dyes his hair dark. And we get to start hearing about all these humanitarian efforts he’s into.
If you’ll notice, none of these relationships ever reach the 10 year point. He and Jennifer Aniston came close at 7 years. And he and Angelina have been together for about 4 or 5. But, I don’t think that it’s going to last. Why? Because Brad Pitt doesn’t have a strong, established personality that allows him to be him in his relationships. He’s all about trying to be as much like the other person as possible, which gets old. I could be wrong, though. He may like his Angelina personality enough to decide that this is who he wants to be, and he may settle down. But, in a few years, he may want to wear color again. And this could be a problem.
